Bylaws

The bylaws are the rules the chapter runs by. The official text is kept on Mensa Connect, which requires an American Mensa login.

The question-and-answer tool is hosted on Google NotebookLM and needs a Google account. It is a convenience, not the official text. When it matters, use the copy on Mensa Connect.

A short history

The first set of chapter bylaws appeared in the very first issue of our newsletter in December 1964. They took up less than a page and established a Los Angeles Mensa Committee that any member could join by attending three consecutive meetings.

The bylaws have been revised and expanded many times since, most substantially when Greater Los Angeles Area Mensa incorporated in 1977.
